GSpot is a video tool designed to help you analyze damaged video files that do not play properly. Basically, this application can be used scan your problem video files, especially AVI and MPEG formats in order to determine whether the file is corrupted or you don't have the proper codecs needed to play that particular video file.

Once a video file is loaded into GSpot, the program will automatically scan it and display it's properties. You will be able to find out the exact file size, video container, video codec, length, frame rate, frequency, user data/metadata, audio codec information and other relevant file info. In case there is something wrong with the file or there's a problem regarding the codecs in you system, the program may propose a solution and a test.

Pluses: You can re-size certain types of MPEG source files (VCD, DVD) using Jukka Aho's algorithm.
